In Memory of Ben Macdonald – 1989-2021

It is with great sadness that we announce that Ben Macdonald passed away on January 14th, 2021. Ben was a part of the International Lights family for more than four years. Originally working at the front desk, he moved up quickly to specification sales, constantly eager to learn more about the business and learn new skills. He never hesitated to jump into learning more, from taking classes to learning new software, absorbing everything he could.

Ben had a larger than life personality, always bringing humor to our office, coming up with new ideas, and eager to leap into the next thing. When he put his mind to something, he was going to make it happen. From improv to woodworking to designing his future home to becoming a fashionista hipster, he just never stopped. And between all of that, he somehow found time to play softball and collect and use old typewriters. He had a sparkle in his eyes and a zest for life. We were all fortunate to be graced with his smile and laugh.

He had the ability to get along with everyone. Everybody who met him, loved him. His enthusiasm and positive energy made it a pleasure to work with him and we were honored to have him as part of our family at International Lights. His absence will be felt acutely by all of us, he made a lasting impression on all who were lucky enough to know him.
