Susana started her career in architecture by writing her graduate thesis on "Light as an Architectural Form." It was her foundation for a diverse set of design skills around “building” with light. As an AIA (American Institute of Architects) member for the past 20 years, she has expanded those abilities around specification writing and continuing education along with values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in design. Becoming an early adopter of the LEED AP system, completing her WELL AP portfolio, and participating as a member of the IWBI (International WELL Building Institute) Light Concept Advisory supports her leadership in A&D. She aims to use these experiences to assume the role of a true sustainability advocate and promote wellbeing and comfort through lighting. Building a history of strong partnerships with manufacturers globally to act as a bridge between the needs of designers and current technical challenges and opportunities allowed her to assist an ever-evolving industry. She considers herself passionate about maintaining a healthy mind and body, family, friendships, spirituality, community, and personal growth.
